Ambassadorial Scholars and District 7930

As you know, D7930 is now a Pilot District! As a Pilor District, we are no longer sending Ambassadorial Scholars from our district after the 2010-11 year. However, we are still welcoming INBOUND Ambassadorial Scholars!

Introducing Nick Rizzo, D7930 2010-11 Ambassadorial Scholar

Nick is sponsored by the Boston Rotary Club and will be our last outbound Ambassadorial Scholar. Nick will be studying in Singapore after he completes a personal development walk along the Indian/Pakistani boarder. Would you like Nick to speak at your club? Contact Scholarship Coordinator Amy Luckiewicz!

We're always, looking for Rotarian Host Counselors!

Since we're still welcoming Ambassadorial Scholars from around the world, we'll always need Rotarian Host Counselors. Check out below to learn about the benefits of hosting and how to apply!

Roles & Responsibilities of a Host Counselor & Club

· Greet the scholar at the airport (if requested by scholar)

· Assist scholars in settling into their program as needed

· Invite scholars to Rotary Club events and District events

· Provide opportunities to introduce scholar to American culture

· Follow-up with scholars when their reports are due

· Ensure scholars meet their presentation requirements

· Assist scholars in developing their presentations

· Assist scholars with early shopping needs and transportation (as needed)

· Be available to answer questions about Rotary

· Be available for advice

· Attend the NORTHEAST LINK training session if you are a new Host

How to Become a Host Counselor & Club

· Discuss the opportunity with your club President and Board.

· Discuss the opportunity with your family

· Complete a Host Counselor application

Host Counselor applications are reviewed upon receipt and notifications of assignments are sent our as scholars become assigned to our district. We make every  effort to match scholars to Rotarians of the same gender. Single Rotarians and Rotarians with families are both encouraged to apply. Scholars do NOT live in the homes of Rotarians as most scholars apply for university housing. There are some financial responsibilities of the Host Club.

For more information, or to recieve a Host Counselor application, contact Amy Luckiewicz, D7930 Scholarships Coordinator!
