When it comes to parties, the Beverly Rotary Club sure knows how to throw them, whether it’s in person or remotely. February 24, 2021 was the 100th Birthday of our club. We had a kickoff celebration at our meeting on the night of the 25th. Every member, past and present, had a delivery of a special cupcake with our Birthday logo, a party blower and a copy of our goals this year. A wonderful video recalling the past 100 years was played at our party meeting. State Representative Jerry Parisella and Mayor Michael Cahill both had proclamations for our Club. We were honored with special guests: Betsy Manzelli, Alex Falk, Lori Karas, David Deutsch and Joan Arsenault. We had a champagne toast given by our longest serving member, John Glovsky.  Lastly, we had a “workshop" about bubbly drinks at the end of the celebration. One ongoing activity for the club is to have each member perform at least 100 hours of community service this upcoming year.

We are also planning an event for each month until we have a culminating celebration next February (hopefully all together in person). Some of the monthly plans include a time capsule, scavenger hunt, 100 lights into the sky, an activity with our Interact Club and a special Literacy activity with the schools. We have more in the works but that’s just a tease.....maybe our sister clubs can join us in the fun! Happy Birthday, Beverly Rotary Club!!! Here’s to the next 100!
