Members of Boston Rotaract volunteered at and ran in the annual ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI) Race 4 Research on Sunday, August 18, in Cambridge, MA.

The Race 4 Research is a chip-timed 5K road race around Technology Square, as well as a separate four-mile walk and wheelchair ride along the Charles River. An after party and awards ceremony was held outside the ALS TDI office to celebrate participants finishing the race and walk.

Five Boston Rotaract members ran the 5K. In addition, seven other Rotaractors volunteered, helping the ALS TDI staff set up and break down the race areas. Volunteers also served as course marshalls during the race to help direct runners toward the finish line.

All proceeds benefit the ALS TDI, the first nonprofit bio-tech organization focused toward ALS Research. The 2019 Race 4 Research raised over $39,000, helping bring the ALS TDI closer to a cure for the disease.
