In keeping with the 2017-2018 Rotary International theme of “Rotary: Making a Difference,” the Gloucester Rotary Club is pleased to announce that our members raised $85,000. These funds were used to support local, regional and international non-profit organizations. Local groups were gifted $66,400, international causes received $14,100 and regional causes received $4,500.
 
Local recipients include: 1623 Studio, Action, Inc., Addison Gilbert Hospital, Backyard Growers, Bandstand Concerts, Cape Ann Animal Aid, Cape Ann Food Pantry, Cape Ann Plein Art, Cape Ann Symphony, Cape Ann YMCA, Care Dimensions, Christmas Parade, Day by Day Adult Care, First R Reading Program, Fishbox Derby, Fishermen's Memorial Service, Fishtown Horribles Parade, Friends of Council on Aging, Friends of Seacoast Nursing, Generous Gardeners, GHS Track Meets, Gloucester Adventure, Gloucester City Hall Restoration, Gloucester Education Foundation, Gloucester Fireworks, Gloucester Fund, Gloucester Rotary Foundation, Gloucester Stage Company, Grace Center, Inc., Harborlight Community Partners, Harvest Meals/Interfaith Commission, HAWC, Maritime Gloucester, Meals on Wheels Holiday Gift Program, Memorial Gifts, North Shore Health Project, P.A.A.R.I., Parent Teacher's Organization, Pathways for Children, RYLA, SAIL GHS, Sawyer Free Children’s Library, SeniorCare Inc., St. Peters Fiesta, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Stage Fort Park Playground & Gazebo, Teen Artist Guild, United Way of North Shore, Wellspring House, Wreathes Across America and several scholarships awarded to high school seniors.
“It has been an honor and a pleasure to have served as this year’s president of the Gloucester Rotary Club. I am deeply appreciative of our membership’s unwavering commitment and unselfish generosity of both time and effort during our many fundraising campaigns throughout this past year. These efforts and the funds raised will go towards helping to enrich the lives of those in need and is a tribute to the Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self” said Julie Geary, outgoing President of Gloucester Rotary.

This year’s fundraisers included: the Pancake Breakfast, Comedy Show, Trivia Night, Cribbage Tournament, Polar Plunge, Night at the Races, and the annual calendar sale.
