A Ukrainian 12-yr old boy with electrical burns over 90% of his body was recently airlifted from Ukraine and brought to Shriners Hospital (Mass General) in Boston. This was done with assistance from Ukraine Rotary Club Kyiv-Sophia and Rotary Clubs in our neighboring District 7910. Dr. Gennadiy Fuzaylov, who is treating the boy advised that his mother Oksana is staying in Mass General Hospital "parent apartment" available to her only while her son is in the hospital for treatment. However sometime in the next 3-weeks Taras will be released and both mother/Oksana & Son/Taras, who do not speak English, will need a place to stay near Massachusetts General Hospital as Taras needs to receive follow up treatments for up to 6 Weeks then needs to return to Ukraine.
More specifically, they now need help with the following items:

#1 Place to stay in Boston?

Does any Rotarian have Boston housing contacts, such as those listed on dctohc.org website/Partners. Example: http://www.hosp.org/  Hospitality Homes, Boston/HHB, USA: (888) 595-4678.  Need to find out if they have availability in 3-weeks for a 6-Week stay?

Cost & Donation Process/Monitor?  ie; HHB/Minimum donation of $25/night.

$1260 = If $30/night for 6-Weeks/42 Nights initial estimate +/-

#2 Food & Supplies for mother & son.

Cost & Donation Process/Monitor? If no other Rotarian option/plan then direct donation to dctohc.org in name of Taras Semenyuk

$2100 = Just an estimate $50/day +/- for 6-Weeks/42 Days

#3 Transport from Boston place to stay (?) to Hospital for treatments  (hopefully close)

Cost & Donation Process/Monitor? If all else fails direct donation to dctohc.org in name of Taras Semenyuk. Once location identified then possibly a Rotarian may know a transport company ie: Uber or other and ways to process & monitor payments?

$ ??? = determined after housing location determined.

#4 Airline tickets to return to Ukraine?

Cost & Donation Process/Monitor? If all else fails direct donation to dctohc.org in name of Taras Semenyuk. However if there is a Rotarian that has contact with Boston TV/Media who might want to cover this very human story. “We can’t help all of Ukraine now under stress, but maybe we can help one Ukrainian burned child here in Boston”. This kind of exposure may encourage a corporate donor or airline, such as Lufthansa or other to donate 2-Tickets back to Ukraine. After treatments completed and air travel is safe to Ukraine.

$ ??? = determined after we see if there can be corporate or airline support
