In light of our commitment to support the environment, Marblehead Rotary has been working in partnership with Bike Marblehead and Sustainable Marblehead to provide bike racks throughout town. We were able to fund the project with a matching district grant.

"Installing bike racks sends out the message that we are serious about the reduction of carbon emissions, as well as the personal wellness and health of our community," said Linda Sullivan of Marblehead Rotary. Furthermore, what is a better way to promote and enhance the cycling culture of our town?

Previously, riders would secure their bikes on signposts, fences, or trees, too often causing damage to the makeshift rack. For years, we’ve had the bike path and now we have accessible racks to encourage people to use the path more. We’ve installed the first racks at Shubie’s Marketplace, Beach Bluff Park, Upper, and Lower Stramski Way and at Abbot Hall.
