The Rotary Club of Lynn held its Eighth Grade Recognition Program Thursday, February 10th, at Old Tyme Family Cuisine.  This signature program, a staple on Rotary’s annual calendar, seeks to recognize young middle school students from Lynn who, each in their own way, has overcome an obstacle in their lives to achieve success both inside and out of the classroom.  This is the first recognition since the start of the pandemic.  The Club will have two more before the end of the school year.  The program's longtime sponsor is RiverWorks Credit Union.

Seated from L - R: Daniel Brown, North Shore Christian School; Sindy Carbajal Santos, Thurgood Marshall Middle School; Tyler Desmond, St. Mary’s, Marian Division; and Aysia Olaes, Breed Middle School. Back row, Dick Ruth, Rotarian and Program coordinator; Dr. Patrick Tutwiler, Rotarian and Superintendent of Lynn Public Schools; Peter Kopoulos, Chief Financial Officer for RiverWorks Credit Union, and Dr. John Dolan, Rotarian and Head of School at St. Mary’s High School.  Absent when photo was taken but recognized for her outstanding achievement was Jazlene Ledesma, Lynn Vocational Technical Institute, Discovery Program.
