Reading Rotary recently presented Boy Scout Charlie Lloyd with a donation supporting his Eagle Scout Project.   Charlie is a Life Scout in Troop 702 in Reading working to complete the Eagle Scout rank.  Charlie's Eagle Scout Project is to repair and replace a trail boardwalk in Reading's Town Forest.  Charlie's project will add to the network of boardwalks throughout the Town Forest.  Charlie had to plan with and get the approval of the Town Forest Committee, the Trails Committee and Conservation in Town.

A Boy Scout Eagle Project must help a non-profit or community entity for the improvement of the community.  Troop 702 Boy Scouts have completed many Projects in the Town Forest.  This boardwalk will be of service to hikers, campers, mountain bikers, dog walkers, cross country skiers, runners and many other types of people who use the Town Forest.

Reading Rotary's donation is part of an initiative to forge a partnership with Boy and Girl Scouts as there is a natural commonality of purpose in these organizations.  Reading Rotary is happy to be able to help Charlie achieve his lifelong goal of obtaining the Eagle Scout Rank.

Charlie's Project is scheduled to be completed this summer.
