The Peabody Club took steps towards their DEI goals this year using their District Grant funds to diversify classroom libraries in Peabody's public elementary schools. The Club feels strongly about representation being an important part of a child's education, and offered to supplement classroom libraries in grades 2 and 3. Through a collaborative effort with the teachers and Club members, we presented each classroom with 2 boxes filled with books representing children of all races, backgrounds, religions, abilities, etc. We were thrilled to present these books to each classroom and read selections from the books to the class. The enthusiastic teachers have assured the Club that the books will be well utilized. Peabody Supplements Classrooms with Diverse Reads
